I love the idea of having an anniversary photoshoot at any stage of your relationship. So I couldn’t resist sharing a little more from this anniversary photoshoot with my good friends Nic and Kayla! When Nic and Kayla reached out wanting to celebrate their 10 year anniversary with an unforgettable and romantic anniversary photoshoot, I was over the moon excited! They knew exactly what they wanted: classy and elegant, with martini vibes and some killer flash photos, and they absolutely slayed their vision! We had so much fun being creative together and wow oh wow can you feel their chemistry through these photos.

Starting the Anniversary Photoshoot at The Snug
We started the evening at The Snug, a cozy, stylish bar in Sacramento with just the right atmosphere to match the classy, elegant look they envisioned. Picture martini glasses, a softly lit bar, and the flash of the camera capturing those edgy, in-the-moment photos. Nic and Kayla’s chemistry was on fire, and they fit into the bar scene perfectly. It felt like a mix of Old Hollywood glamor and that unique, romantic vibe that only comes from years of being together. It was incredible seeing them so comfortable and playful as they clinked glasses, shared laughs, and stole little glances in between photos.
The Snug provided the ideal backdrop, adding depth and mood to their anniversary photos with its dim lighting and intimate setting. These flash photos are some of my favorites — they’re classy, vibrant, and full of personality. Nic and Kayla were so relaxed and not afraid to be romantic with each other in front of the camera.
The Charming Sacramento State Capitol Building
After capturing those martini vibes for their anniversary at The Snug, we moved to the Sacramento State Capitol Building to bring that classic romance into their session. The Capitol is stunning with its black-and-white checkered flooring, towering columns, and beautiful arches. It was the perfect way to end this session with a refined, timeless look. Nic and Kayla looked absolutely elegant against the Capitol’s architecture, dressed to perfection, and embracing the sophisticated vibes. These moments felt like they belonged in a movie — soft, romantic poses, under beautiful natural lighting that only the Capitol could offer.

Celebrating 10 Years of Love and Adventure
Nic and Kayla poured their hearts into this California anniversary photoshoot. They came prepared, dressed to the nines, and brought their dream anniversary photos to life. We had an amazing time creating together! I loved being able to do something a little different and get my creative juices flowing to capture images that are more than just photos; but memories that showcase their 10 year journey together in the most romantic and classy way.
If you’re considering your own special anniversary photo session to celebrate your love story, I can’t recommend coming in with a clear idea of what you want. It’s always worth it when we get to collaborate and create something that feels uniquely yours. This anniversary session with Nic and Kayla was a reminder of why I love this job, seeing two people so deeply in love, celebrating the life they’ve built, and capturing it in a way that feels true to who they are.
