Looking for some fun couples photoshoot ideas? Next time you’re looking for couples photoshoot ideas I have provided a list of prompts that get your couples moving and interacting naturally with each other! These are key to being able to capture their authentic love! Being able to set the mood, helping your couple feel comfortable in front of the camera, and having confidence behind the camera as the photographer are all important ingredients for creating an environment for your couple where they aren’t afraid to be their true selves!

I always open my sessions with a few tips for my couples. This way they know what to expect, how to act, and how to best take advantage of our time together! Alexandra and Austin were so easy going and they rocked the prompts I had them do. I just love how their San Francisco coastal photo shoot turned out! Come check out more of their SF couples photoshoot below!!

Turn Up The Music & Get The Creative Juices Flowing!

I always ask my clients what their favorite type of music is! I then get that going right away, or they can even share their favorite playlist with me. Adding in their favorite music will help them get into the mood and helps ease their nerves and relax! Alex and Austin are the perfect example of letting loose, having fun, and being silly during a photoshoot!

Get Them Moving!

I like starting the session with some running or spinning prompts to get them moving and laughing right from the beginning! I have found this to be the most helpful with breaking the ice and getting the jitters out. It also really sets the tone for the rest of the session! Holding hands and spinning in circles or just running with each other are both great ideas.

A piggyback ride with some fun twists, a baby hold and spin, the butt lift, putting their arms around each other, and a drunk walk are a few of my other favorites. You also can’t go wrong with a little walk and hip bump action! This one always brings out all the laughter for some playful couples photos! Once the couple is nice and warmed up, I may move into more stationary prompts and poses. Not every couple is the same, so I don’t use the same prompts for everyone.

Get To Know Your Couple Prior to The Session!

Getting to really know your couple before your session together is crucial! The more you know about them, the better equipped you will be for their session. This will also allow you to give them a fun experience and creative suggestions!

Asking your couple to include something personal in the session is another great idea to get them feeling more comfortable in front of the camera. Whether that’s chugging a beer or Truly, enjoying some pizza together, laying on a blanket for a cuddle sesh, or sipping some coffee or tea! Don’t be afraid to think outside the box and include elements in the session that showcase the couple’s relationship.

Use these prompts the next time you’re looking for couples’ photoshoot ideas!

I hope these tips and tricks have helped give you some ideas for your next photoshoot, or if you’re ready to plan a fun photo shoot with me, just like Alexandra and Austin did, then you can inquire with me here! Let me know in the comments what your favorite photoshoot prompts are!
